For North Seattle
Hometown: Lewiston, MN
What ministry are you involved in? Director of Celebrate North Seattle, community event.
What excites you most about your ministry? I love seeing people come together for a cause bigger than themselves.
Favorite place to visit/eat or best part about Seattle? I love being in the North Cascades with my husband-the mountains and lakes are so beautiful!
If someone caught you on a Saturday off, what would you be doing? Spending time with my husband, getting out of the city to enjoy creation or happily working on some project at our house!
Favorite Quote: "If you want to build a ship, don't drum up people to collect wood, and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea." Antoine de Saint Exupery
Favorite book/verse in Bible: "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" John 8:32
If someone wanted to do something really nice for you, what would they do? Send me an encouraging note or help me do a project that I need some extra hands to do.
Hobbies: Creative writing, playing guitar, brainstorming, reading, working/doing something creative in our house
Book you recommend to everyone/book you are reading right now? How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth - Gordon D. Fee and Douglas Stuart
Your biggest passion? In general, I want to see people live from the core of who they are. Going to deeper places in conversations with people brings me great joy because I think it helps unlock that potential. I think we are on this earth to connect with others & ultimately God, so my greatest joy is to do that in any venue I find myself in!

Favorite place to visit/eat or best part about Seattle? This is a tough one. I don't have a favorite restaurant; I like many different food types, but could eat breakfast pretty much anytime.
If someone caught you on a Saturday off, what would you be doing? Saturdays lately are spent going to breakfast with girlfriends, doing laundry, cleaning my apartment, and generally catching up on things. So, not very exciting.
Favorite book/verse in Bible: Philippians 3:13-14 "No, dear brothers, I am still not all I should be but I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God is calling us up to heaven because of what Christ Jesus did for us."
If someone wanted to do something really nice for you, what would they do? Tickets to the theater - There's something about watching actors on the stage at a play or a Broadway show that I truly admire and love but I'm not able to experience this very often.
Hobbies: Reading, singing, cooking/baking, swimming, counted cross-stitch, watching movies, going to plays, etc...
Book you recommend to everyone/book you are reading right now? There isn't just one book I would recommend to everyone. I like too many and it just depends. I'm currently reading Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand, which is good so far. I'm generally reading multiple things and my reading taste is quite eclectic - I like variety!
Your biggest passion? Truly is to help people who are struggling experience personal growth, healing and change. I understand personally how important it is to deal with the struggles of life and how sometimes we need help to do that. I also know that it's not easy, but the journey is worthwhile.
